Send us your foreign tape and we'll transfer it to U.S. format or send us your U.S. format tape and we'll transfer it to foreign and ship the 2 tapes back to you for :

Do you live abroad and want to send a tape to your U.S./Canadian Friends? Send it here first for conversion, and well send them both your original and the copy they can see ( They have to send the original back to you ) for the same $29 ( ship to U.S. destination ) or $35 ( ship to Canada destination )!

RESTRICTIONS:

We can only convert VHS or VHS-C type tapes. DO NOT send us 8 MM or Beta tapes for conversion.

WE ONLY CONVERT NON - COPYRIGHTED TAPES. Commercial tapes of any kind will be returned postage due.

FOREIGN TAPES TO BE CONVERTED TO U.S. FORMAT MUST BE RECORDED IN SP ( 2 HOUR SPEED ).

The tapes we convert will only look as good as the master. Please send us well recorded tapes. We only look at the first few minutes of your tape to insure transfer was achieved. Your privacy will be maintained.

Popular World Formats

Generally speaking, different formats exist because of differences in household electric services, political reasons and geography. We don't have the time to devote an entire web-site to the history of development of different world formats. Here is some general information ( if you are interested ):

NTSC: A system developed in the United States. It is also used in Japan, Canada, Mexico, Philippines and Western South American Countries. A similar system called M-PAL is used in Brazil ( the only country to use this ).
Specifications: 525 Scan Lines, 60 HZ, 30 Frames/sec., Chroma 3.58 MHz.

PAL: A system developed in Europe, also used in Australia and South Africa and most other former or current "British Empire" countries. A similar system called N-PAL is used only in Argentina, Paraguay & Uruguay.
Specifications: 625 Scan Lines, 50 HZ, 25 Frames/sec., Chroma 4.43 MHz.

SECAM: A system developed in France ( until recently, the only "free" country in Europe using this format ) beside former French colonies. The difference in chroma signal ( being lower ) makes this system in-compatible with PAL, though the specifications otherwise are very similar
Specifications: 625 Scan Lines, 50 HZ, 25 Frames/sec., Chroma 4.25 MHz.

MESECAM: The Middle-East and Russia as well as former Soviet block countries use a variation of SECAM ( explained above ). A slight difference in chroma signal makes it more compatible with PAL than with SECAM.
Specifications: 625 Scan Lines, 50 HZ, 25 Frames/sec., Chroma 4.4 MHz.
